This adjustment ensures that the nipple hands reach the spokes adequately, without overextending to the point where the spring is overly compressed, causing issues with the nipple keys fitting onto the nipples. Follow these steps:
-
Verify Bolt Placement
- Ensure that bolt (1) is in the outer hole. The inner hole is only used for offset rims.
-
Access Test Mode
- In the "TEST MACHINE SEQUENCE" menu, use a wheel and select the line "NIPPLE HANDS ON SPOKES."
-
Move Nipple Hands Outward
- Move the nipple hands outward by selecting the line: "INDEX WHEEL <ENTER>."
- Turn the wheel manually to allow the nipple hands to move between the spokes.
-
Position the Nipple Hands
- Move the nipple hands between the spokes by selecting the line: "NIPPLE KEYS ON NIPPLES."
-
Adjust Cylinder Position
- Adjust the cylinder so that slot (4) is level with the spoke (5), using nut (2) for fine adjustments.
- If the rod end is too long, shorten the thread as needed.
-
Repeat for Both Sides
- Perform this adjustment for both sides of the wheel to ensure proper alignment.
