Lacing machine - Machine does not detect holes

This problem is characterized as: After placing a Rim in the machine, it rotates, but a circumference error message appears or undetected holes appear

Symptoms:

  • After placing a wheel into the machine, it rotates, but a circumference error message appears, or certain spoke holes are not detected.

Possible Causes:

  • Verify if the correct circumference was taught to the machine in Menu 2 (Edit Wheel).
Main menu > press 2 > press menu > check the line rim diameter.
  • Check if there is any remaining material inside the rim that could interfere with detection.
    Check the rim
  • Ensure there are no stickers covering the spoke holes.
    Check the rim
  • Confirm that the light bulb is not burned out or turned off, as this could affect sensor readings.
Follow the wires and check if still have 24vdc.
  • The camera may have been moved, or there could be a loose screw on the camera support.
  • If possible, replace the camera board with one from a similar, nearby machine. Be sure to consult the electrical diagram before making any changes.

Avoid moving the camera or loosening screws unnecessarily, including on the light stand. Ensure these components remain in place unless absolutely required.

If you have two identical machines, try swapping the camera board from one machine to the other to help identify the source of the problem.

The camera board is located inside the gray box. If troubleshooting requires swapping or inspecting the board, ensure the machine is powered off and follow safety precautions before accessing the electrical panel.
